Just  saw this caption on TV a few minutes ago. “Today’s youth is a result of bad parenting.”

Growing up in Jamaica W. I., when there  was a report of a child (youth) behaving badly, the general reaction in the town or village was “No home training.”  or,  “Poor home training.”

I  thought it a bit unfair  to stop at “Bad Parenting”. I felt a slight difference between “Poor home training”, and  “Bad Parenting”.  Do you? Let’s ‘hear’.

If we think of Parenting as  a “Continuous function of  time”, the caption  could be extended. “Today’s youth is a result of bad parenting…And today’s parents who were once youths,  might have experienced bad parenting…And their parents…”

Orientation is function of foundation. I have also  wondered: When experts some years ago, suggested that a mother should not  be in such a rush to attend to a crying  baby!? I thought that this neglect, this lack of attention, this allowed discomfort,  had to have had some effect on the  developing neuronal system  in that young brain. (Orientation is a function of foundation. Some ‘things’  are hard to forget. Damaged neurons are not easily reset or repaired. Makes psychotherapy very  difficult. (Psychological interactions, are up  against  biological  foundations.) I imagine.  If the young developing human could think  or talk, little she-he might have said “Nobody cares about me. If I run into problems later on…I’ll be quiet.”

I am interested in your reactions. Please share.
